Ingredients
Scale
Chicken & Marinade
- 4 skinless boneless chicken thighs
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon chili paste or hot sauce (adjust to taste)
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
Sauce & Noodles
- 2 packs ramen noodles
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 tablespoons butter, divided
- 3 green onions, chopped
Instructions
- Marinate the Chicken: In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, chili paste, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken thighs and coat them thoroughly in the marinade. Let the chicken marinate for at least 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- Sear the Chicken: Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Place the marinated chicken thighs in the skillet and sear until they develop a deep brown crust and are fully cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per side depending on thickness. Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest before slicing.
- Cook the Ramen Noodles: In a separate pot, bring water to a boil and cook the ramen noodles according to the package instructions, usually around 3 minutes. Drain the noodles and set them aside.
- Prepare the Creamy Garlic Sauce: Lower the heat to medium on the same skillet used for the chicken and add another tablespoon of butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute, being careful not to burn it.
- Simmer the Sauce: Pour in the heavy cream, stir to combine with the garlic butter, and let the sauce simmer gently for 5 to 7 minutes until it thickens slightly and becomes luscious.
- Toss Noodles in Sauce: Add the cooked ramen noodles directly into the skillet with the creamy garlic sauce. Toss well to ensure the noodles are evenly coated with the sauce.
- Assemble & Serve: Divide the creamy garlic noodles between serving bowls. Top each with the sliced seared chicken thighs, sprinkle with chopped green onions, and add extra chili oil or paste if additional heat is desired. Serve immediately for best flavor and texture.
Notes
- Marinating the chicken longer than 30 minutes will deepen the flavor.
- If you prefer less heat, reduce the amount of chili paste or omit it entirely.
- Use fresh garlic for the most aromatic sauce; pre-minced works in a pinch.
- Ramen noodles can be substituted with udon or soba noodles for a different texture.
- Leftover chicken can be refrigerated and reheated gently to avoid drying out.
