Ingredients
Scale
Tea Base
- 4 cups Water (Needed for brewing tea)
- 4 bags Black Tea Bags (Use strong varieties for best flavor)
Strawberry Syrup
- 1 pound Fresh Strawberries (Ripe berries yield the best results)
- 1 cup Sugar (Balances the tartness of strawberries)
- 1 cup Water (Extracts flavor from strawberries)
Additional Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice (Adds brightness to flavors)
- Ice (Essential for serving)
- Sliced Strawberries (For garnishing)
Instructions
- Boil and Brew Tea: Begin by boiling 4 cups of water in a medium saucepan over high heat. Once the water reaches a rolling boil, remove it from heat and add 4 black tea bags. Let the tea steep for 10 to 15 minutes to extract a strong and robust tea flavor.
- Prepare Strawberry Syrup: In a separate saucepan, combine 1 pound of sliced fresh strawberries, 1 cup of sugar, and 1 cup of water. Bring this mixture to a boil while stirring occasionally to dissolve the sugar completely. Once boiling, reduce to a simmer and cook for 10 to 12 minutes, mashing the strawberries to release their juice and intensify the flavor.
- Strain Strawberry Mixture: Pour the strawberry mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl or pitcher, pressing gently on the fruit pulp to extract all the flavorful juice. Discard the leftover pulp as it’s no longer needed.
- Mix Tea and Strawberry Syrup: In a large pitcher, combine the cooled black tea and the strained strawberry syrup. Add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice to add brightness and balance the sweetness. Stir the mixture well to blend all flavors evenly.
- Chill and Serve: Refrigerate the combined tea and strawberry syrup until chilled. When ready to serve, fill glasses with ice and pour the chilled Strawberry Sweet Tea over the ice. Garnish with fresh sliced strawberries for an appealing and tasty presentation.
Notes
- For best results, use ripe and sweet strawberries as they provide the fullest flavor and natural sweetness.
- You can adjust the amount of sugar based on your preference for sweetness.
- If you prefer a stronger tea flavor, steep the tea bags a few minutes longer or use more tea bags.
- This tea is best served chilled but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- For a fizzy twist, add sparkling water just before serving.
